Klättermusen, from Åre in Sweden, is known for clean, almost architectural mountain clothing and a serious focus on materials. With The Signal the brand presents its first collection made only for freeride and backcountry days.

New in the line: the insulated Meile Jacket (US$960) and Meile Pants (US$850), made for storms and cold backcountry days, the Gimle Hoodie (US$300), a warm wool-blend layer for alpine climbing and touring, and the light Drifa Zip Vest. The Brage 2.0 ski set returns in new colours.

Why it's interesting: Scandinavian design with real mountain substance. The Gimle Hoodie also works for autumn hikes, not only on skis. Prices shown are from the US shop.
