The name is the whole idea: Climb As You Love. CAYL started in Seoul in 2011 and came from people who climb, boulder and hike, not from the fashion world. That origin still shows in every seam.

From the crag to the city
According to Field Mag and Tatler Asia, CAYL was founded by Euijae Lee, who had no background in fashion and first made gear for himself, then for friends. The company is now based in Seoul's Yangcheon district.
What made CAYL famous outside Korea is how naturally its climbing clothes moved into everyday life. Its trousers have a cult following, and the look has become a reference for city dwellers who spend their weekends on the rock.
Laut Field Mag und Tatler Asia wurde CAYL von Euijae Lee gegründet, der keinen Hintergrund in Mode hatte und zuerst Ausrüstung für sich selbst machte, dann für Freunde. Heute sitzt die Firma im Bezirk Yangcheon in Seoul.
Bekannt wurde CAYL ausserhalb Koreas dadurch, wie selbstverständlich seine Kletterkleidung in den Alltag wanderte. Die Hosen haben eine treue Fangemeinde, und der Look ist zur Referenz für Städter geworden, die ihre Wochenenden am Fels verbringen.
Selon Field Mag et Tatler Asia, CAYL a été fondé par Euijae Lee, qui n'avait aucune formation dans la mode et a d'abord fabriqué du matériel pour lui-même, puis pour ses amis. L'entreprise est aujourd'hui installée dans le quartier de Yangcheon, à Séoul.
Ce qui a rendu CAYL célèbre hors de Corée, c'est la façon naturelle dont ses vêtements d'escalade sont passés dans la vie de tous les jours. Ses pantalons ont des fans fidèles, et le look est devenu une référence pour les citadins qui passent leurs week-ends sur le rocher.

CAYLが韓国の外で知られるようになったのは、そのクライミングウェアがごく自然に日常へと入っていったからだ。パンツには熱心なファンがいて、週末を岩場で過ごす都会の人たちにとってのお手本になった。

More than the summit
For CAYL, climbing is an attitude rather than a technique: the effort, patience and growth you bring to everything you do. The brand describes outdoor gear as a keeper of memories, something that holds on to the moments you lived in it.
CAYL also wants to help local outdoor culture grow from within. It works with partners such as Brompton and stocks other outdoor brands next to its own.
Für CAYL ist Klettern eher eine Haltung als eine Technik: die Mühe, die Geduld und das Wachsen, die man in alles steckt, was man tut. Die Marke beschreibt Outdoor-Ausrüstung als Hüterin von Erinnerungen, als etwas, das die Momente festhält, die man darin erlebt hat.
CAYL will ausserdem helfen, die lokale Outdoor-Kultur von innen wachsen zu lassen. Die Marke arbeitet mit Partnern wie Brompton und führt neben den eigenen Produkten auch andere Outdoor-Marken.
Pour CAYL, l'escalade est une attitude plutôt qu'une technique : l'effort, la patience et la progression que l'on met dans tout ce que l'on fait. La marque décrit l'équipement outdoor comme un gardien de souvenirs, quelque chose qui retient les moments vécus dedans.
CAYL veut aussi aider la culture outdoor locale à grandir de l'intérieur. La marque travaille avec des partenaires comme Brompton et propose d'autres marques outdoor à côté des siennes.
CAYLにとってクライミングは技術というより姿勢だ。何をするにも注ぐ努力、忍耐、そして成長。ブランドはアウトドアギアを思い出の守り手と表現する。それを身に着けて過ごした瞬間を留めておくものだと。
CAYLはまた、地元のアウトドアカルチャーを内側から育てたいと考えている。Bromptonなどのパートナーと協業し、自社製品と並べて他のアウトドアブランドも扱っている。

Built for Korean mountains
Korea's mountains are steep, rocky and close to the city, and CAYL's range reflects that: tough stretch trousers, a hardshell in CORDURA fabric, and the Baekdu 2, a roll-top pack named after the highest mountain on the Korean peninsula.
